Chelsea shrugged of some winter blues today with a 3 – 1 over Ipswich Town. Around this time  last season Michael Ballack hit some good form and it looks like he’s just about to do the same one year on. Ballack scored twice today to send the curly wig wearing Suffolk folk back up the A12.

Lampard picked out Ashley Cole in the box and in turn he set up Ballack for the first-half opener before Alex Bruce levelled for Ipswich after dreadful defending at a set-piece. No change there then. However 14 minutes after the break Ballack put Chelsea back in front via a front kick from 25 yards. Frank Lampard steadied the home fan’s nerves with a dipping free kick from 35 yards.
