Chelsea are potentially mulling over a transfer offer from Barcelona, with Brazilian Malcom said to be part of a player plus cash bid, which would mean Willian departing to the Nou Camp.

The report in the Express says that Barcelona are desperate to land the experienced Brazilian attacker, after numerous, failed attempts to land him in last summer’s transfer window.

However, Chelsea are now said to be more open to the idea of selling Willian, despite being one of the form players since Maurizio Sarri joined the Blues as manager. Now 30, the Blues may decide to maximise the price-tag this month, as next season would be the final year of Willian’s contract.

Malcom would be an interesting addition to Sarri’s Blues, having failed to impress since a late switch to Barcelona, despite agreeing to join Roma only to change his mind at the eleventh hour.

Since arriving in Catalonia Malcom has made just five La Liga appearances – never playing more than 57 minutes in a game. However, the 21-year old has found himself injured on two occasions this season which has scuppered his chances of putting a run together.

The deal reported in the Express by Barcelona is said to be packed at around £50 million and it may be one that the Blues feels is good business and solves the need of scouring the transfer market this month for a replacement – if Malcom is indeed open to the idea of a player for player type deal.
