As reports have been stating over the last few weeks, new Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte wants major reinforcements before the season starts as he prepares to take the reigns at Chelsea.
With the future of Diego Costa in doubt, the Blues are seeking to bring in two more strikers. Costa is thought to be interested in the appeal of moving back to Spain to his former employers Atletico Madrid, who are said to be wanting to sign the Spaniard, who’s International career is in tatters.
One strong contestant and genuine target is Everton forward Romelu Lukaku. The former Chelsea man wants a return to Stamford Bridge, according to strong sources and he fits the type of front man that Conte is looking for with his pace and power.
There is also whispers that another Belgian Christian Benteke is also on the radar. Out of favour at Liverpool but once again its his power and strength as a striker that is appealing to Conte. However, I feel this does not have a lot of substance behind the story and could possibly just be talk.
Finally, the latest reports coming out on Tuesday morning is that Chelsea ARE in talks with Real Madrid over the signing of Alvaro Morata, according to strong reports.
The 23-year old attacker is a priority for Conte, who knows the forward well from his time at Juventus. The player is currently a Juventus player, but Chelsea are to negotiate with Real Madrid, who are set to exercise a buy back clause in his contract but with no plans to include him in the first team squad, will be interested to sell him to Chelsea for a profit of around £16 million, making the fee close to £40 million.
