Some things at Chelsea never change. We’ll always sit back on a 1-0 lead and Chelsea Village restaurants will always re-open on a weekly basis. Why do they re-open? Because they are dire, with even Ken Bates himself telling us in yesterday’s programme that Fishnets restaurant’s last menu was an “absolute disaster”. No change there then, as my gastric ulcer testifies.

At least the restaurants are more consistent than the Blues, who had an off-day of titanic proportions. It is not often that a visiting team dominates at the Bridge but Watford did just that and after they equalised they ran the show.

By the end we were hanging on and the final whistle came as a relief. I don’t think Marseille will be scared. (How bloody true!)
