Chelsea, it seems, are continuing to build towards the January transfer window despite a transfer ban meaning they can’t currently sign anyone until next summer. However, there continues to be hope that this can be cut short, allowing ins and outs in January 2020.
The latest name to be added to Chelsea’s growing transfer list is Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi – the Ukrainian has been personally scouted by Blues favourite Claude Makelele and reported back to London with a ‘glowing’ recommendation (according to the Metro).
The 26-year-old playmaker has been impressing in Italy since a move from Genk in the summer, with Makelele scouting him during his international victories over Lithuania and Portugal – Ruslan Malinovskyi scored twice to help send Ukraine to Euro 2020.
The biggest problem for Chelsea heading into the next possible transfer window is that clubs know the Blues have money to spend and are desperate to bring in new faces, so undoubtedly the market will see inflations on the price of players.
On top of this, Atalanta would be in no rush to sell one of their prized assets who has a contract at the club until 2024, which is likely to see Chelsea get quoted top-price for Ruslan Malinovskyi.
