Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a deal for AS Roma pair, Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri which could be worth over £45 million (via Sky Sports).
Considering some of the players Chelsea have been linked with signing in the last few weeks, this deal is certainly promising.
The likes of Peter Crouch and Andy Carroll have been linked with moves to the Emirates in recent weeks but it seems that the Blues are closing in on targets which would be far more suitable.
Reports suggest that Antonio Conte’s men are closing in on a move for the AS Roma pair, Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri.
Once of Manchester City, Dzeko has scored 46 goals in his 88 Serie A matches since his 2015 move.
Palmieri is a Brazilian left-back who has recently returned from a lengthy absence with a serious knee injury.
Sky Sports claim that the Serie A side want £44.4m plus £8.8m in add-ons for the pair that would seriously strengthen the Chelsea squad.
It’s a sensible deal and one which would definitely improve the squad at Stamford Bridge. Edin Dzeko was a useful player for Manchester City and seems to have improved during his time in Italy. Palmieri would also add some much-needed competition on the left.
