Chelsea host Manchester United in the Premier Leauge’s Monday Night Football with Frank Lampard’s side desperate to avenge the opening day drubbing at Old Trafford, while putting further distance between their rival’s for the top four spots.
In Chelsea manager Frank Lampard’s pre-match press-conference, the boss revealed via Chelsea FC official that the duo of Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will definitely miss the clash with Man Utd on Monday;
“Christian [Pulisic] trained with the Under-23s, which will hopefully be for a short period and we’ll factor him back into our training soon but he won’t be fit [for United].”
“Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] won’t be fit for this game. He’s getting closer, training a lot and he just needs more match fitness to be in consideration but it’s great to have him nearly back.”
There have also been doubts about the fitness of strike Tammy Abraham, with Lampard also admitting that the England man would be ‘assessed‘ over the weekend before being declared fit for the Chelsea line up vs Man Utd on Monday.
A message was blatantly sent to Kepa Arrizabalaga in the dropping of the number one for the 2-2 draw at Leicester last time out, but it’s expected that the Spaniard will return vs Man Utd in the Premier League.
Mason Mount could miss-out and have to settle for a place on the bench, with Callum Hudson-Odoi coming in on the left, and Mateo Kovacic potentially back in the Chelsea starting XI.
Willian is likely to replace Pedro in the Chelsea line up vs Man Utd, while the back-line looks set to remain in-tact from the away draw at the King Power Stadium.
Predicted Chelsea line up vs Man Utd
