Chelsea welcome Championship promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest to Stamford Bridge on Sunday for the third round of the FA Cup – the Blues are hoping to make it 22 seasons unbeaten at this stage of the famous cup competition.

In the usual pre-match press-conference (via Chelsea FC official) assistant Jody Morris sat in for Frank Lampard, with the news that the boss is shaking off a likely cold that has also found its way around the squad;

He’s got a bit of a bug, which he’s had for a week to 10 days now.”

Injury-wise, Alonso is looking like he’ll definitely be out and Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] is the obvious one.”

Fikayo [Tomori] trained today but he’s still not feeling the best himself – there’s been a bit of that about because of the time of year.”

It’s expected that there will be changes to the Chelsea line up vs Nottingham Forest, with Frank Lampard aiming to navigate the Blues to a seventh win in-a-row against the Championship side.

Tammy Abraham has been a constant in the Chelsea starting line up but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him benched for Michy Batshuayi vs Nottingham Forest. The likes of Callum Hudon-Odoi and Pedro are also tipped to make starts in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Changes could also be noticeable in defence and in-goal, with Caballero potentially getting a rare start and Lamptey and Christensen given minutes at the back.
