Chelsea are clinging on to their current spell in the Premier League top four when they head to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday – defeat would see the two London clubs swap places.
Frank Lampard in his usual weekly presser was quizzed (via Chelsea FC official) on the Chelsea line up vs Tottenham revealing an almost clean bill of health and a determination to put some shaky form behind them;
“Ross [Barkley], [Fikayo] Tomori and [Olivier] Giroud are fine. We’ve got a fit squad. Nice selection problems I suppose.”
“I see a positive group in training, a team training hard, a group that are together. That’s all I can ask for. Now of course we need the results to turn back a little back because the last few I am not happy with.”
The news that Fikayo Tomori is available again after two games missing will be a boost to Lampard, but it will be interesting to see whether the Blues boss takes Kurt Zouma out of the Chelsea line up vs Tottenham to bring in the England youngster.
Pundits and fans have been calling for Chelsea youngster Mason Mount to be taking out of the firing-line, having seen the 20-year-old’s form dip in recent weeks – it could be that Lampard heads the calls and opts to bring in Kovacic against Spurs away from home.
CFCnet’s predicted XI for Tottenham vs Chelsea is likely to see the Blues revert to experience over youth, with James, Tomori and Mount on the bench, but Tammy Abraham will once again lead the line.
Predicted Chelsea line up vs Tottenham
