Chelsea face a potentially tough test on Saturday in the Premier League against a formidable Wolves side, who are under pressure themselves to be the ‘best of the rest’ outside of the ‘top six’.
The Chelsea team news vs Wolves is in and Frank Lampard has confirmed that German defender Antonio Rudiger is back and ready for selection, and is expected to take his spot alongside Andreas Christensen.
The biggest blow for the Blues this week is the absence again of N’Golo Kante in midfield, with the manager revealing, via Chelsea FC, that this game has come just a bit too soon for the World Cup winner to be ready;
“He still has issues with his ankle and the medical team are working with him. He’s in a bit of a transitional period now where we’re trying to get him on the pitch and he’s doing some physical work but this game comes too soon for him.”
Emerson is another who is out of the Chelsea line up vs Wolves on Saturday, having picked up an injury on international duty with Italy.
CFCnet predicts that Tammy Abraham will once again start up-front in the Chelsea predicted line up vs Wolves, with Pulisic, Mount and Barkley all behind him in the attacking midfield positions. Kovacic and Jorginho will anchor in midfield, with the defence seeing Alonso and Rudiger coming in to add more experience, to what has been a somewhat leaky defence so far this season.
Predicted Chelsea line-up vs Wolves
