Chelsea have been left taken aback with just 24 hours of this summer transfer window to go, with news breaking that defender David Luiz is aiming to force an exit before the deadline, with a move to Arsenal in his sights.

A report in the Metro claims that David Luiz actually refused to train with his teammates on Wednesday and talks are ongoing between the 32-year-old and Chelsea about the possibility of him departing before the deadline.

Arsenal apparently have submitted an offer to take Luiz to north London, likely promising him guaranteed starts with Unai Emery in-need of reinforcements after the departure of Laurent Koscielny.

Despite signing a new contract back in May, it seems that Frank Lampard could soon be without his highly-experienced Brazilian international – who as the report states, was a huge fan of former boss Maurizio Sarri, his exit has seemingly triggered a change of mindset for Luiz.

Chelsea do not want to sell at this late stage to a direct rival, but this apparent strike from training could be enough to get rid instead of keeping a disgruntled player on the books to kick-off Lampard’s era at the Blues.
