Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has suffered a blow to his title bid with the news that one of his players will miss five matches through injury (via The Metro).
The international break must be a hugely stressful time for Premier League managers.
For most of the season, managers can carefully control their players’ fitness levels and carefully judge how much they should train and play. When it comes to the international break, that all goes out the window.
It can often lead to injuries, as Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has recently discovered.
Striker, Michy Batshuayi is set to miss five matches after sustaining a foot injury while on international duty with Belgium.
Conte clearly isn’t the forward’s biggest fan but Batshuayi has proven to be a useful player, especially in cup competitions.
Alvaro Morata will continue to start but if the Spaniard picks up a knock then Chelsea are in real trouble. Eden Hazard isn’t quite firing on all cylinders which means that much of the slack will have to be picked up by Morata.
