Good evening blues and welcome to the midweek edition of Chelsea Fresh – Where we take a look at the latest news, transfer rumours and anything else in between surrounding Stamford Bridge.
First of all, there are claims from Starsport that if Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich decides to sack Manager Jose Mourinho from the club, it will wind up costing the Russian billionaire up to £37.5 million in pay off’s.
The paper claim that the Portuguese man is on around £10 million a year at Stamford Bridge and has recently signed a four year deal with the league champions. This will provide Mourinho with some substantial backup as he attempts to turn around the worst point of his managerial career. Sacking Mourinho will be very much last resort especially taking this in to account. But we all know that Abramovich demands success and even with that fee, Mourinho MUST turn this around fast otherwise he will be shown the door in this cut throat business.
Finally for now, Chelsea will move for QPR striker Charlie Austin in January. The player has been a target over the summer and with Loic Remy expecting to leave and Radamel Falcao not performing – Austin would provide the fight and desire that is missing in the absence of Diego Costa.
QPR want £15 million for the England striker but there is also claims that Austin is keen to stay and help his current side gain promotion. But these are contradicting reports as others are claiming he wants to be back in the Premier League as soon as possible in order to battle for a place with England at the Euro’s this summer.
