Chelsea are seemingly intent on replacing football’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, when the transfer window re-opens and a report in the Express claims the Blues have reached out to the agents working with AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Italian number one stopper has just one year remaining on his deal with boyhood club AC Milan, and with no new contract offer in sight, the Blues are hoping to convince Gianluigi Donnarumma that his future is in west London.

A deal has reportedly been posed to the team working with Donnarumma, with an offer of £7million-a-year, plus bonuses, if he were to swap Milan with London.

The report clarifies that no figures have yet to be discussed in terms of a transfer fee between Chelsea and AC Milan, but it will surely be sizable, considering Donnarumma’s age of just 21 and his undoubted ability.

Kepa Arrizabalaga had forced his way back into manager Frank Lampard’s plans having been dropped for a number of Premier League and Champions League games, but it’s seeming more and more likely that the boss will want his own man between the sticks heading into next season.
