In the last couple of hours it’s emerged that talks have been held behind the scenes at Chelsea discussing the future of manager Maurizio Sarri, who appears to be on borrowed time.

Multiple sources, including BBC Football, report that Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will remain as the club’s manager for the game against Malmo in the 2nd leg Europa League tie at Stamford Bridge – with the Blues 2-0 up from the 1st leg.

Whether or not his future has been decided is another thing, and will he lead Chelsea into the EFL Carabao Cup final on Sunday? One thing is certain, and that’s that there a major concerns over the performances, especially so in the wake of the 6-0 Premier League defeat at Manchester City.

Maurizio Sarri will hold a pre-match press conference on Wednesday and it’s expected that questions will primarily be about his own future and not so much about the Europa League tie against Swedish side Malmo.

More on this developing story as it happens.
