Some interesting quotes coming from Blues midfielder N’Golo Kante, who was speaking to French radio station RTL via the Express, regarding what would happen if Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane contacted him regarding a transfer;
Today I’m still at Chelsea and I still have aims here.”
What is said elsewhere is not important.”
Even if [Zinedine] Zidane calls me, it’s not important, I’m at Chelsea today and I’m focused on that.”
Real Madrid have obvious ambitions and money to spend this summer, as they look to transform their first XI into a title-winning one again, and it’s little surprise that the question about a move to Real Madrid came about.
However, Chelsea fans will be encouraged that Kante still has ‘aims’ at Stamford Bridge despite already winning a Premier League title and FA Cup since moving from former champions Leicester City.
Amid doubts over the manager’s long term-future, looming transfer ban and potentially missing out on the top four, it’s going to have to be expected that many questions and speculation will come about regarding the club’s best players.
For now, at least, N’Golo Kante appears ready to knuckle down and achieve even more at Chelsea and that’s got to be encouraging for Blues fans.
