Tonight’s result in Hungary was never going to be important, besides continuing momentum from the last weekend’s victory in the Premier League.

However, a game that entertained more than most would have anticipated took place with Chelsea coming back to secure a 2-2 draw thanks to substitute Olivier Giroud who replaced Alvaro Morata who fell to injury around the 45th minute.

On the 75th minute it was one of the more unlikely free-kick takers, Olivier Giroud, who curled in an absolute peach with his left-foot.

The two goals conceded by Chelsea away in Hungary were only the second and third goals conceded in the entire group, which the Blues finished up on 16 points out of a possible 18.

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Vidi

Willy Caballero – 6
The Argentine returned between the sticks and quite honestly couldn’t have done anything about either – an own goal and an absolute peach of a finish by Loic Nego.

Davide Zappacosta – 6

Ethan Ampadu – 5
Scored Vidi’s equaliser with an own-goal – the Welshman was poorly positioned and ultimately headed in to this own net, not quite the impact Ampadu would have wanted to make on the night.

Andreas Christensen – 5

Emerson – 6

Cesc Fabregas – 7

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6
Got in amongst it and was the only Chelsea player booked with a bit of a forceful challenge in the last minutes of the game in Budapest.

Ross Barkley – 6

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 7

Willian – 8
First shot on target and it was a Willian free-kick that cureled in to give the Blues the lead on the night – these are the kind of situations the Brazilian thrives in.

Alvaro Morata – 5
Came off injured at the halfway mark with a potential knee injury and before that it was another performance to forget.

Chelsea Player Ratings – Substitutes

Olivier Giroud – 8
A lovely free-kick in the 75th minute got Chelsea back on level terms and it was certainly a goal to play back later!

Pedro – 6
