Emerson Palmieri, Chelsea left-back, has admitted in an interview with Sky Sports that he is ‘afraid’ of a future at the club without their star man Eden Hazard, with the Belgian’s future still unclear.

He shows every day how important he is.”

Obviously we have many players of quality in our team but he is on another level, and is one of the best in the world.”

I personally cannot see him leaving, but you never know in football. Like Chelsea fans, we are afraid that he might leave, I still believe that he will stay and we really want him to stay.”

The speculation surrounding Eden Hazard has once again gone up a notch after the Belgian’s playing hero Zinedine Zidane was once again appointed Real Madrid manager. The La Liga giants are likely to invest big-time this summer and Eden Hazard’s name is the one making the headlines every time – Zidane’s appointment will not help the Blues’ position.

Emerson stating that he can’t “see him leaving” may give hope that Hazard isn’t giving out the impression he wants to depart this summer to his teammates, which could very well be a promising sign he wants to stay.
However, qualifying for the Champions League next season and a two window transfer ban are surely key factors in the Belgian’s position to signing a new contract or opting for the likes of Madrid.
