Chelsea are looking to make it three Premier League wins in-a-row as they hit the road and head north to Newcastle United – which hasn’t proved a happy hunting ground in the last two fixtures, especially after last season’s final 3-0 defeat to Rafa Benitez’s side.
Maurizio Sarri has so far guided Chelsea to a 3-2 win over Arsenal and a 3-0 away victory at Huddersfield Town – with the Blues so far having no issues in scoring goals in a system still under development by the former Napoli boss.
Eden Hazard could return to the starting XI in Sunday’s trip to St James’ Park, having been used a substitute in the last two Premier League victories.
Hazard’s return to the starting XI is likely to see Willian drop out to the substitutes bench having failed to make the desired impact in last weekend’s London derby against the Gunners.
The biggest questions mark is on Ross Barkley’s spot in the midfield, as it appears that Maurizio Sarri is looking more and more likely to send the Englishman back to the bench and replace him with on-loan midfielder Mateo Kovacic, to line-up alongside N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
Pedro has started the season on-fire with two goals in two games and is a guaranteed starter away vs Newcastle, forming an attacking trio which is expected to include Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata – who scored a long overdo goal against Arsenal last week.
Predicted Chelsea Line Up vs Newcastle
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga
Defence: Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso
Midfield: Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante
Attack: Pedro, Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata
