The Blues are quickly back in Premier League action after Sunday’s London derby win over rivals Spurs, for the traditional Boxing Day Premier League clash – at home for Chelsea vs Southampton.
Boxing Day is seemingly a good time to be a Chelsea fan with the incredible stat that the Blues haven’t lost the annual post-Christmas clash since 2003 – to Charlton Athletic.
In-fact since 2010 Chelsea have only been out of the top four after the Premier League Boxing Day fixture has been played, and that was in that 2015/16 season that saw Mourinho lose his job for the second time at the club.
CFCnet’s predicted Chelsea line up vs Southampton is likely to see some rational changes as the games come thick and fast over this festive period – expect to see Christian Pulisic back in the Chelsea XI, with Jorginho also likely to start, possibly in-place of Mason Mount.
Cezar Azpilicueta is an injury concern after being subbed off in the win at Spurs, so Reece James could get the nod in a back four the includes Rudiger, Zouma and perhaps Emerson in for Marcos Alonso.
