According to various reports, Liverpool’s flying attacker Raheem Sterling has rejected the club’s new contract offer of around £70,000, causing Chelsea to wait in the wings with a keen interest in the young England starlet, an interest that stems back many years.
Various sources have stated that Chelsea will monitor the situation closely and will express an interest should Jose Mourinho allow Andre Schurrle to leave the Bridge for Wolfsburg this window.
The possibility of Sterling arriving at Stamford Bridge is certainly a mouthwatering one, but at the same time, many pundits and sources alike have stated that Sterling is merely awaiting a larger offer of around £100,000.
One thing is for sure, the longer the stall goes on, the more likely it will be that Chelsea make their move.
