According to a report in the Independent this evening, Chelsea have apparently directly responded to Charly Musonda’s frustrations which were clearly spelled out on an Instagram post, by telling him to do his ‘talking on the pitch’.
Musonda impressed in a League Cup victory over Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge but any other other first team opportunities have been non existent to-date.
The club have told Musonda to follow in the successful examples of current youth players Tammy Abraham (on loan at Swansea), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (on loan at Crystal Palace) and Danish defender Andreas Christensen. All have formed their own pathways and taken chances while on-loan so it may be that Musonda will have to look outside of the Stamford Bridge walls when the January transfer window opens.
If you’re going to look for this now infamous Instagram post then unfortunately you’re out of luck as it’s been deleted, however the message was: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should. And what do you get back? Literally nothing… done.
“However, with this being said I will continue with same dedication and commitment to this great game.”
