According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea have agreed a deal to bring in young Romanian defender Christian Manea for a fee of around £2.3 million that will see him arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer. He is then likely to join The Blues loan service heading out straight away. Vitesse is normally the club of choice as Chelsea’s non official feeder club and it’s likely this is where he’ll head.

The 17-year-old was also being chased by Arsenal and Ajax and is being touted as a player with huge future potential. But it looks like it’s Chelsea who have moved first in order to secure the deal, signing a 5-year contract.

Manea currently plays at right back for Viitorul Constanta in his homeland and has featured throughout youth level for the International side, recently making his first appearance for the senior squad. He is a strong and quick player with a lot of natural talent on the ball.

Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho has always been conscious about the Financial Fair Play regulations and has often looked at bringing in bargain players as well as the big money deals.
