Chelsea are tracking in-from striker Callum Wilson at Bournemouth, say multiple reports including in the Mirror, with the 26-year old so far firing the Cherries to an impressive run in the Premier League.

In 11 league games this season Callum Wilson has so far scored six goals – currently just one behind Chelsea’s own top goalscorer Eden Hazard, with both players on four assists each.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri fell short in the summer in trying to sign a striker, with Gonzalo Higuain a target before opting to move within Italy to AC Milan. Wilson would likely come cheaper, but Bournemouth will know that they can get an absolute premium for Wilson should the Blues come calling in January.

Wilson has been tipped for a first time call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England senior squad with his form meaning he is the top English goalscorer in the Premier League this season – ahead of Harry Kane by one goal.

Possibly the one concern for the club and Blues fans will be Callum Wilson’s unfortunate history of cruciate ligament injuries – twice pulling up in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, missing over 50 games for the Cherries.

Seemingly injury free for around a year now, the striker will hope that his injury woes are behind him and his attention, via quotes in the Mirror, state that its more goals that he’s after since clocking up 50 for Bournemouth;

It’s nice to make that achievement. I should have had it a lot sooner.”

Now I am looking upwards, I am trying to get 100 goals. Why not make another landmark for the club?
