Rumours were circulating on social and through the transfer gossip pages today after a prominent Brazilian journalist Tweeted that Chelsea’s Willian was taking up negotiations for a move back to his homeland with Palmeiras, this news is via Sports Illustrated.
Part of the Tweet the journalist wrote said “Palmeiras and Willian are negotiating” but emphasised no deal had been agreed but talks were progressing well.
Of course as modern footballers do, they take to social media if it is indeed necessary to do so, and Willian was no exception, quickly replying to the Brazilian journalist by writing; “Sorry, but I’m not negotiating with Palmeiras and my manager has not received any contact from the club. I have no plans to return to Brazil at this time. Hugs!”
Oi Sandro, tudo bem? Desculpe, mas não estou negociando com o Palmeiras e meu empresário não recebeu nenhum contato do clube. Não tenho nenhum plano de voltar ao Brasil nesse momento. Um abraço!

The rumours of a move away from Stamford Bridge have been rumbling for a few weeks, with rivals Manchester United apparently monitoring the situation; boss Jose Mourinho is a fan of Willian but any kind of a move is pure speculation at this point.
Willian has seemingly lost his starting spot under Antonio Conte in recent games and was only introduced as a 77th minute substitute in the club’s victory at West Brom at the weekend.
