The rumours continue to intensify that it will be a matter of time and not when that Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri takes up the vacancy at Juventus this summer. Now, somewhat surprisingly, the story has been talked about directly by Sarri’s first signing Jorginho.
In a press conference, attended by Jorginho and left-back Emerson for the Italian national team, the midfielder addressed the Juventus rumours directly, suggesting he doesn’t totally back his manager’s potential move;
It would be sad because I think [Sarri] did a good job.”
We finished third in the Premier League, we won the Europa League and we reached the EFL Cup Final despite all the critics.”
It was a good first season in Chelsea. It would be sad for everyone.”
The Napoli fans still have him in their hearts; it’s normal that they could get angry. They could treat it as a betrayal; they’re like that. We’ll see what happens.”
The quotes carried in the Evening Standard give an insight into yet more Chelsea players’ feelings towards Maurizio Sarri, who has more often than not been criticised by the press, fans and even suggestions players weren’t happy.
It does however appear that the manager who has spent less than a year at Stamford Bridge will return to Italy, potentially this week, leaving Chelsea to find a successor – one that the fans can get behind from the ‘get go’.
