It has been widely reported online that Inter Milan are targeting Chelsea Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi and they are hoping that they can secure a deal in the January transfer market. The Italian giants are looking for a striker to replace Mauro Icardi.
Mauro Icardi is the captain of Inter Milan and recently signed a new contract with the club. The Argentina international released an autobiography which has caused a lot of tension in his native country Argentina and with the Milan fans. He criticized the Inter’s ultras and because of this, they want him sold as soon as possible. When the player missed a penalty in their last match in the league a large section of his own fans mocked him. It was also reported his car was attacked after the game against Cagliari.
With the future of Mauro in doubt, Inter is looking for a replacement for him. The gossip columns and newspaper back pages are reporting the Batshuayi is the player that they want and could make a move for him in January.
Michy Batshuayi was bought by Chelsea during the summer transfer window but has yet to start a game for the Blues. Diego Costa has refound his form this campaign and is keeping Batshuayi out of the team. If this trend continues then the player will want to find a new club to play for.
There are a number of clubs that have been linked with Icardi with the main two been Napoli and Arsenal. Inter should get a big fee for the player due to him signing a contract extension during the summer so will be looking to use the cash to buy a top class replacement with Batshuayi top of their list.
Inter are confident that they can lure away the Belgian international from Stamford Bridge. The player signed from Marseille where he was their star player.
Mauro Icardi has started the season off extremely well scoring six goals already in just eight games in the league. At the moment it looks like it is going to be a two-horse race between Arsenal and Napoli to sign the player. They will both be trying to take advantage of the current situation and get a cut price deal for the striker.
Icardi is the captain of Inter and the fans are calling for him to be stripped of it. If things do not improve before the January transfer window opens then it is almost certain that the player will be sold.
One of the main stumbling blocks that Arsenal and Napoli will have to overcome is the release clause that was put in the player’s new contract. It is set at 100 million pounds and both clubs will not be willing to pay that amount to sign him.
The player is still young at 23 years old and has massive potential to become one of the best strikers in the world. Whoever buys him will have to make sure he does not make the same mistakes that have led to the hatred from the Inter fans.
