It’s been an all-round positive week for Chelsea, a first league victory away at Norwich last Saturday and then news that both Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount made selection for the England senior side.
Now a chance for a first home win of the season for Frank Lampard as it’s expected to more of the same from the predicted Chelsea line up vs Sheff Utd on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off at 15:00 (UK).
The news is that Antonio Rudiger is pushing for selection again but will not be in the Chelsea line up this weekend, instead he will get gamete in the U23-side on Friday night, in a bid to step up his return.
The bad news for the Chelsea starting XI is that it won’t include N’Golo Kante or Pedro, manager Frank Lampard confirmed (via Chelsea official website) both would be missing for the game against Sheff Utd;
“Pedro is not fit. Hopefully he should be fit the other side of the international break.”
“N’Golo Kante is not fit. It’s a continuation of his ankle problem. He won’t be travelling with the French squad either.”
CFCnet gives Tammy Abraham the nod to continue up-front in the Chelsea predicted line up vs Sheff Utd, while Willian should come in for the injured Pedro. Expect the same back-four until Rudiger is deemed fit enough again, and it’s a toss between Kovacic and Barkley in-midfield, but the Croat should get the nod ahead of the Englishman.
Predicted Chelsea line-up vs Sheff Utd
Defence: Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, Emerson.
Midfield: Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Willian.
Attack: Tammy Abraham.
