Welcome to CFCnet’s roundup of potential comings and goings at Stamford Bridge this summer, where we give our take on the latest rumours surfacing this morning.
First up, Oscar was hauled off again at the weekend by Manager Jose Mourinho after yet another lacklustre performance albeit an intelligent back heal creating the eventual match winner against Manchester United. Mourinho seems to be growing more and more frustrated with his Brazilian midfielder and we could well see him make Oscar available for transfer this summer, despite the player stating he wants to stay at Chelsea. Juventus are showing the strongest interest and would be able to come up with the fee required by The Blues.
Next up, we mentioned him last week and it seems this story is gathering pace with more and more publications reporting it. West Ham full back Aaron Cresswell may well be subjected to an offer from Chelsea this summer, but the Hammers have slapped a £20 million price tag on the defender, potentially putting off any moves from Chelsea. The Blues were clearly looking for a cheaper option to add cover to that left back area and also adding to the number of home grown squad players, but this could end all speculation if they are to be priced out of it by their London rivals.
Staying with London rivals, Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is also on the receiving end of interest from Chelsea, who are looking for a reasonably priced replacement for goalkeeper Petr Cech, who will be leaving this summer.
The England Under-21 international keeper is highly rated in the locality and is touted for a bright future, whether he’d be prepared to sit on the Chelsea bench as under study to Thibaut Courtois, I’m not so sure of. Fulham are doing all they can to keep hold of the 22-year-old starlet.
Finally, this genuinely made me laugh when I read this rumour this morning. But then again it has been created by The Daily Star! Chelsea are reportedly interested in making a £40 million offer for Arsenal’s German World Cup winner, Mesut Ozil.
Yep, I had a similar reaction as that too!
