Guide to Chelsea Players in World Cup 2018, Tips and Fixtures

Between June 14th and July 15th Chelsea fans can put the past season firmly behind them and enjoy watching a number of Blues players representing their countries at the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
In what was a largely disappointing season in the league and in Europe, despite Antonio Conte delivering an FA Cup trophy to put some gloss on a forgettable campaign – this summer’s World Cup will feature no less than 12 Chelsea players all looking to make their mark.

Roundup of Chelsea Players in World Cup 2018

When the players return for club duty later in the summer, the club may also be welcoming back newly crowned World Cup 2018 winners into the fold, which may certainly contribute to morale and performances next season. CFCnet runs down all the players representing the club in Russia this summer.

César Azpilicueta will be part of one of the World Cup favourites in Spain, and was arguably one of the best performers for the Blues this past season, and has been one of the first teams on the first eleven time out. The Chelsea favourite isn’t guaranteed a starting spot for his country though and appears to be battling it out with Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal for that position.

Eden Hazard and Tibaut Courtois are Belgium starters every day of the week, as well as automatic picks in 99.9% of Chelsea fans starting elevens. The Belgians will fancy themselves with the names in the squad and Eden Hazard is the undoubtedly one of the stars of this summer’s tournament – and will likely be watched closely by clubs desperate to lure him away from Stamford Bridge. It would appear that if Roberto Martinez’s Belgium are to go deep into the tournament they will need the two Chelsea players to be on-song.

England’s bid to put the ghost of Euro 2016 to bed will be aided by two Chelsea players, Gary Cahill and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Blues fans will hope that Loftus-Cheek can make an impact this summer and ultimately prove himself to be a first teamer at Stamford Bridge rather than go out on-loan again. Cahill recently scored for England in a friendly against Nigeria, despite being a bit in and out of the Chelsea eleven this past season.

Nigeria will have our first choice wing-back Victor Moses in their World Cup squad and is likely to be integral to the Africans as one of their few ‘big name’ stars.

Brazil are big favourites in Russia this summer and they have plucked for our very own midfield star Willian, who has bagged over 50 caps for the famous yellow and blue. However, it remains to be seen whether the Blues favourite is a spectator on the bench or in the starting line-up due to his in and out appearances record all this past season.

France are being talked up big time by the press and there’s little wonder why with the talent at their disposal, and N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud will be there flying the colours for Chelsea as Les Blues look to upgrade their Euro 2016 runners-up status to World Cup 2018 winners.

One of Chelsea’s breakthrough stars Andreas Christensen is set to grace the world stage this summer with his country Denmark, and will need to perform to his best if the Danes are to progress out of a tricky looking group that includes France, Australia and Peru.

Germany will be on the march to defend their World Cup crown after winning it in style back in 2014, and will have Blues favourite Antonio Rudiger amongst their ranks. It’s not certain that Rudiger will be a starter in Russia, but if called upon will certainly not look out of place in the Germans bid to win back-to-back titles.

Last and not least is our back-up goalkeeper Willy Caballero who is known to be a bit of a penalty saving expert – however, the experienced keeper is unlikely to see much game-time for his country Argentina with Sergio Romero at Man Utd tipped to be number one.

Uruguay - Saudi Arabia
World Cup
Over 1.5 goals, 2nd half - odds 2.2
i take now this bet for the 2nd round of the world cup in the group a between uruguay and saudi arabia; i think we will see goals in this match and i'm going to pick this over 1.5 bet in the 2nd half of the match. of course urugauy are better team and able to win easily and to score 2 goals in the 2nd half but is not impossible saudi arabia will score in 2nd; when i'm posting the tip saudi arabia are losing 2-0 against russia and so if they will lose then they will have nothing to lose in the 2nd match and probably have to try to score, could concede 2 goals as well in this 2nd
Saudi Arabia - Egypt
World Cup
Over 2.5 goals, ordinary time - odds 2.44
i take now this bet for the wolrd cup for the group a when saudi arabia will play against egypt; saudi arabia are bad team and underdog and lost the 1 st match 5-0 against russia, i think they will lose the 2nd one as well against uruguay and so in this match they have nothing to lose and i expect them playing offensively. egypt are better team and able to score easily, when they will play this match i think they will have to win by large margin after the russi won 5-0 and probably uruguay will win by large margin as well and so i expect to see 3 or more goals scored
South Korea - Mexico
World Cup
Mexico to win against South Korea - odds 1.85
for the world cup international there will be this match for the f there will be this match between south korea and mexico and when i'm tipping mexico are playing against germany and are playing very well and seem a good team and i think they are a better team and south korea and for me they will win and so i go with this straight mexico win full time. south korea still have not played any matches but played 3 friendlies in last 3 matches and did 2 defeats and a draw and so i think they are worse team
Portugal - Morocco
World Cup
Both teams to score, ordinary time - yes - odds 2.32
portugal versus morocco is this soccer match for the 2nd round of the world cup 2018 for the group b and here i take a bet on both teams to score yes full time, not easy but the odds are pretty good. portugal did a draw 3-3 in 1 st round against spain, they have good attack with cristiano ronaldo and i expect they will score at least 1 here as favourite, but they showed some problem in defense and because tunisia did a defeat in 1st round and so have to attack and to score i see them able to score
Nigeria - Iceland
World Cup
Iceland to win or draw against Nigeria - odds 1.52
nigeria will play against iceland for this match in the group d of the world cup 2018 and here i take a bet on iceland to not lose this match, i go with a double chances on them, not very high odds but i think we will see a balanced match. nigeria did a defeat 2-0 in the 1st round against croatia and i have not see them very well and i think this will be a tough match against iceland. they did a nice draw 1-1 against argentina and will be motivated, i see them able so to not lose
Denmark - Australia
World Cup
Australia AH +0.50, ordinary time - odds 2.18
not easy because denmark are better team but i'm not sure they will win this match and i like the odds offered for this x 2 bet full time and so i'm going to pick this x 2 bet full time. denmark in the 1st round of this group c of the world cup 2018 did a win 1-0 against peru but have not played well and i have not see them very well, peru missed a penanlty kick. australia did a defeat 2-1 but against france and they conceded the goal only at the end of the match with an unlucky own goal, not easy but i see them able to not lose
Serbia - Switzerland
World Cup
Switzerland European Handicap 0 - 1, ordinary time - odds 1.46
not high odds but here i expect a balanced match and for me switerland won't lose this match and so i'm going to pick this double chances on them, the match is serbia versus switzerland and it's a match for the 2 nd round of the group e of the world cup 2018 in russia. serbia did a win 1-0 in the 1 st round but against costa rica and so a draw could be good for them. switzerland did a good draw against brazil and they played pretty well, i think so they will be able at least to not lose here
Poland - Colombia
World Cup
Over 2.5 goals, ordinary time - odds 2.23
for the world cup group h there will be this match between poland and colombia and it's a match where i think we will see goals scored and for me we will see 3 or more goals in this match and so i go with this over 2.5 bet full time. both teams in the 1st round did a defeat both 2-1 as favourited and so they have to win in this match, with a draw will be very hard for them if japan and senegal will draw and so i expect an offensive team with both teams try to win and i pick this over
Uruguay - Saudi Arabia
World Cup
Uruguay AH -2.00, ordinary time - odds 2.01
Football. Fifa World Cup 2018. Uruguay against Saudi Arabai. Well, here I think that we will see 2 different level teams. Uruguay is one of the better teams in this tournament and clear favourite of this group. While Saudi Arabia is like amateurs team and 1 st game against por team Russia lost by huge 5 - 0 result. Here I think that we can also expect atl east 3 goals from Uruguay as this team also need some better goals balance and Saudi Arabia is realy great opponent for that to do in this match. So, good luck to all.
Uruguay - Saudi Arabia
World Cup
Uruguay AH -2.25, ordinary time - odds 1.91
Uruguay - Saudi Arabia, World Cup Uruguay in the moment when I write this is still didn't played their first match of World Cup vs Egypt, but I have to do it because odd will go even lower for this match. Uruguay is great team, they have few great players, including Suarez and Cavani, attacking duo. Saudi Arabia played 1st match at World Cup vs Russia, and they lost 5:0 easily. I consider Russia much worse than Uruguay, so this match will be even harder for Saudi Arabia. Simply I can't see to this match finish with some different outcome than easy win for Uruguay. Prediction: 6:0 or something like that.
