Chelsea take on Nottingham Forest this evening and it seems that one youth player for the Blues has let slip some information ahead of the clash.
After the excitement of Europe and the Premier League last week, we now turn our attention to domestic cups with Chelsea due to take part in the Carabao Cup.
The League Cup fourth-round is taking place this week with the Blues welcoming Nottingham Forest to Stamford Bridge.
The competition has often been a place for managers to try out some younger players and it seems that Antonio Conte will be doing just that if this is anything to go by.
Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda posted a lengthy thank you note to the various youth coaches and physios who have worked with him ahead of what he called: ‘one of my biggest dreams.’
From 5 years to 24 hours… @ChelseaFc #Unleash 👀🏟 ” Thanks to everyone at the academy, who had a part in the developing me, from the head of youth, all the coaches I’ve had, and medical department, to achieve one of my biggest dreams wouldn’t be possible without you, I’ve been lucky to have had such training but more importantly, a better education to be here, thank you!”
Musonda has already appeared for Chelsea this season, making a small cameo off the bench in the opening day defeat to Burnley at Stamford Bridge but he has never started a match.
It seems likely that Musonda has been told he will be playing at the Bridge this evening and the fact that he has broadcast this information may not go down well with some people at the club. Still, you can hardly blame him.
