Chelsea have identified three potential signings to replace Michy Batshuayi in the Chelsea squad with Antonio Conte reportedly furious at the Belgian (via The Telegraph).
It was pretty obvious that Antonio Conte was unhappy with Michy Batshuayi’s performance against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The manager picked the Belgian to lead the line in the absence of Alvaro Morata and it doesn’t look like he will be doing it again anytime soon.
With Morata close to a return to first-team action, Conte has apparently named three targets he would like to bring in in January to replace Michy Batshuayi.
Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and Palace’s Christian Benteke are the three players Conte would consider signing.
The three forwards are very different players but it just shows what Conte thinks of Batshuayi considering Christian Benteke hasn’t scored a goal all season.
Jamie Vardy would be an interesting signing with former Leicester stars N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater already at the club.
It’s a strange rumour coming out of Stamford Bridge but it does give a good insight into Conte’s thinking. The Italian has said in the past that he doesn’t think this Chelsea squad is deep enough to compete in multiple competitions and reinforcements are needed.
