Antonio Conte has said that he will look for solutions within the squad to deal with David Luiz’s suspension after the defender was sent-off against Arsenal.

It was hardly the ideal afternoon for Chelsea. The Blues have dominated Arsenal so often in the past but just couldn’t find a way to win all three points at the Bridge.

Conte’s men had chances, with Pedro Rodriguez, in particular, coming close with an opportunity which should really have been converted.

The game was slow and a little closed off and as a result, the talking point became David Luiz’s late red card.

The Brazilian was already on a yellow but was shown a straight red by referee Michael Oliver for a studs-up tackle on Arsenal’s Sead Kolasinac.

Luiz will miss three matches and now, Conte has revealed that he will turn to Andreas Christensen to deal with the defender’s absence.

“Christensen is a very young player but I think he is a good player and I trust him,” Conte said after the match.

“Now he has the possibility to play and now he has to prepare very well to play.”

It’s good to see Conte looking towards Andres Christensen as a solution. The 21-year-old needs time on the pitch and this could be a good opportunity for him. However, given the recent downturn in form, some experimentation with a different formation could also be a good way to take advantage of Luiz’s absence.
