German side Borussia Dortmund have said, via the Mirror, that their newest star and England’s Jadon Sancho is set to see his value skyrocket to around £100 million. The 18-year old been called up Gareth Southgate’s senior side this week for back-to-back away trips to Spain and Croatia.
Chelsea are one of the Premier League top sides taking a serious look at the Englishman who left Manchester City for just £8 million as a 17-year old back in 2017 – a move which is now starting to look foolish for City officials and a fantastic bit of business for Dortmund.
The report in the Mirror even says that Chelsea were one of a few Premier League clubs trying to sign Jadon Sancho last season before his move to Germany – with London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal also interested.
Jadon Sancho’s stats are impressive to say the least this season, with nine assists and one goals in just 10 appearances in all competitions. With two Champions League appearances under his belt already and the club top of the Bundesliga table there’s little wonder his value is only going to go up and up.
With Dortmund viewed as a club to the produce and nurture great talent, they have also become known as a bit of a selling club and Premier League clubs have taken advantage of that in the past. Chelsea will feel they can get Jadon Sancho back to England, but a hefty price-tag could mean one of the Blues’ top stars has to leave first.
