It appears that Chelsea fans are closer to finding out the long-awaited decision of what Eden Hazard will do next – sign an extension at Chelsea or request a transfer this summer.
The Independent takes a quote from French media source RMC, where Eden Hazard was speaking directly to in an interview that is set to be aired this week. The Belgian made the revelation that is bound to send Blues fans into a sweat;
I know what I am going to do. I have made a decision.”
No more was elaborated on by the Chelsea number 10 and speculation will fuel further on what this decision will mean – has Maurizio Sarri and the club done enough to convince Hazard to be part of the next few years in west London or is he set to push for a potential move to Real Madrid?
If Chelsea is the ‘decision’ that Eden Hazard has decided on then fans would expect a new contract and agreement to be reached and announced within a short time frame to ensure the club looks even more attractive to potential new recruits this summer and as a major boost to the team in general.
Silence from the club until the summer though would indicate that a move away is surely more likely. Fans will only ask why there would be silence if Eden Hazard has made the decision to stay at the Blues.
While it wouldn’t likely break any world transfer records, Chelsea will break their very own club record if the do decide to sell Eden Hazard, with the club expected to demand in excess of £100 million. That would eclipse the current highest fee received for a transfer at Stamford Bridge – around £60 million for Oscar who moved to Shanghai SIPG.
