Season 2002/2003

CHELSEA 1-0 MIDDLESBOROUGH

This cannot be much of a match report, because this was not much of a match, you need two teams to have a match.

CHELSEA 0-0 SOUTHAMPTON

There is an old adage which I am sure we all know, never mess about with a winning side. Sadly, or so it would appear, it is an English saying yet to be translated into Italian.

CHELSEA 2-0 ASTON VILLA

Things are definitely changing down at the Bridge. If not invincible, we have suddenly become incredibly consistent.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 CHELSEA

So our eleven-game unbeaten run comes to an end and I have to spend the rest of the day listening to ManUre “fans” going on and on about how they are going to win the quadruple (which has ridiculously low odds of 66–1).

MIDDLESBOROUGH 1-1 CHELSEA

The chance was there to go top of the Premiership, but JFH seemed more intent on shooting at someone in row 35, so we dropped a place to third behind Arsenal and United.

EVERTON 1-3 CHELSEA

Let’s start with the other score, which was just as important: Everton Fans 1, Chelsea Fans 3. Now that is what I call a good day out. This was an amazing match, with a number of firsts.

CHELSEA 4-1 EVERTON

Funny how time changes, you don’t you think? Ten years ago I would have given my left arm (I write with my right) to have won this competition in whatever its form, Worthless, Milk, Coca Cola or even Watney’s bloody Red Barrel.
