Just as the media and sceptics were starting their rumours regarding John Terry’s Chelsea future being in doubt, Manager Jose Mourinho has jumped in to reassure supporters that their beloved club captain will most definitely still be a Chelsea player next season.
Terry was man of the match in Sunday’s Capital One Cup Final against Tottenham and has continued to be one of Chelsea’s best performers this campaign. He’s recently gone on record confirming that he does not know what his future holds and any offers were not on the table yet, sparking media attention and negativity.
However, Mourinho has confirmed “I can guarantee he will be a Chelsea player next season. I know what my board tells me – no doubts he’s going to get his contract.” The Portuguese man confirmed that there will be an offer on the table soon.
The Blues operate an over 30s policy at the club, where it seems the wages decrease and there will only ever be a one year contract offered, such a policy that has seen both Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole both leave the club still having a lot to offer. This doesn’t seem like it will be the case for Terry, much to the delight of the club and it’s supporters.
