As representatives of a large swathe of the match-going Chelsea support, we would like to issue a joint statement of support to John Terry who was relieved of his role as Captain of the England national football team.
In the two matches he has played for Chelsea since the allegations concerning his private life broke, John performed magnificently, displaying all the traits that are required for a Captain of a national side.
We do feel however, that John has been subjected to an unjustified witch-hunt by certain sections of the media but, with England being in a good position to win the forthcoming World Cup, we are at a total loss as to why both the player and the England national side have seemingly been undermined in such a way.
As Chelsea supporters, we will continue to give John our unqualified and full backing and fully expect him to give Chelsea 100% commitment as he always has done, both in his role as a Chelsea player and in his position as Captain of our team.
We look forward to John leading Chelsea to victory in our forthcoming match against Arsenal and, indeed, to silverware at the end of this current season.
That said, we can foresee a time when John is reinstated as Captain of the national side and look forward to that day.
