According to The Times, Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho is in the midst of discussing a new deal with the Club that will see him extending his current contract until 2020 in a lucrative offer.
There is no doubt of the boards intentions and who they see as their main man to continue to bring success, and turn Chelsea in to a dominating force of world football for years to come. This is a signal of intent indeed, owner Roman Abramovich see’s Mourinho as the best manager around, and one who he wishes to keep at the helm of his club for the foreseeable future.
The news comes on the same day as former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is quoted as saying that Mourinho “could not handle the pressure at Real Madrid”. It’s an interesting statement especially the fact he then went to Chelsea, which is arguably one of the most high pressured role in football, with Abramovich pining for instant success and has a high turnover of managers.
But it looks like he’s ready to settle with Mourinho, news that will please the Blues faithful who adore the Portuguese leader.
