So De Bruyne has joined Werder Bremen, we all know that. But unfortunately Chelsea supporters were panicked yesterday when it was reported that Werder Bremen had a ‘puchase clause’ or a ‘buy out option’ on the Belgium youngster.
Worried Chelsea fans then filled the world wide web with concerns about De Bruyne leaving Chelsea permanently. This is simply NOT the case. The clause has been mis-understood, and it is Chelsea who actually have a clause in place.
Although I am not fully aware of the exact contract, I can confirm that Kevin De Bruyne’s buy out clause, is in fact a clause in his loan terms that enable Chelsea to pay Bremen a fee if they want to re-call De Bruyne back to Stamford Bridge, before his agreed loan contract runs out. Werder Bremen have also confirmed this fact just a couple of hours ago.
It would be a pretty blind deal for Chelsea to allow Bremen to buy Kevin De Bruyne, they actually do rate the Belgium international very highly and he’s set to become a big name at the Bridge. A good move by Chelsea to put the buy back clause in the loan too, we might end up needing him back sooner rather than later, especially if we get the decent cup runs we had last season.
