Good evening Blues and welcome to Thursday evenings transfer news update from CFCnet, as we take a look at the latest potential arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge this coming summer transfer window.
Firs up, reports of a new signing being complete is top of the agenda. Cristian Manea, a right sided defender from Romania has apparently completed his move to Chelsea for a fee of £2.3 million.
The news was announced by the CEO of struggling Romanian club Viitorul Constanta today. The 17-year old is very highly rated and was wanted by a number of top clubs from around Europe, but it is Chelsea who have secured his services.
He has signed a 5-year deal at Stamford Bridge and is likely to head out to feeder club Vitesse Arnhem on loan.
Next up, Jose Mourinho has all but admitted that Radamel Falcao is about to become a Chelsea player and it appears that everything is now in place for the move to become official. It’s not clear whether the announcement will be made before the Copa America as previously wished by the player, or once it’s all over. But Mourinho has claimed that he will get the best out of Falcao once again and criticised the people who have written him off.
Falcao is expected to join on a loan deal taking a cut in wages to become a Chelsea player.
Filipe Luis meanwhile seems reserved to the fact that he will be leaving Chelsea this summer albeit may not be back to Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian left back admitted that he does not know where his future is and that it is up to Chelsea, but he won’t be pushing through a move back to his former club in Spain.
Finally, it appears apparent that Douglas Costa is also going to be one of the new arrivals spoken about my Mourinho. The Brazilian attacker is expected to join Chelsea for £19 million this summer from Shakhtar Donetsk.
