Claudio Pizarro has joined German side Werder Bremen on a year-long loan deal, only one season after signing for Chelsea.

Pizarro, 29, has returned to the Bundesliga, despite attracting interest from recently promoted Premier League sides Hull City and Stoke City.

However, the Peruvian international striker decided on Bremen, after Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari was determined to find the ex-Bayern Munich player a new club according to yesterday’s Daily Mail.

Pizarro joined Chelsea on a free transfer under ex-boss Jose Mourinho last July. But, after the Portuguese departed Stamford Bridge, Pizarro hardly figured under former coach Avram Grant. Pizarro has made 21 appearances for Chelsea and despite scoring on the opening day of last season at home to Birmingham City, he only scored once more, again against the Midlands side at St Andrews.

Meanwhile Chelsea full-back Juliano Belletti is reportedly on his way out of Stamford Bridge according to the Daily Mail. The 32-year-old Brazilian signed last season from Barcelona, but Chelsea boss Scolari is seeking a move for Belletti, after Jose Bosingwa joined Chelsea this summer.

*Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, who has yet to appear for the Blues since signing in January, is also reported to be a target for Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan.
