Italian news source Il Messaggero via Sky Sports write that one of Europe’s top-rated centre-backs Kalidou Koulibaly is going to be one of the potential new Chelsea manager’s (Maurizio Sarri) first signings once appointed.
It’s only logical that Kalidou Koulibaly is being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, having played some of his best football under Sarri and the club’s intent on bringing in new players to get back to challenging for the Premier League title again next season.
The price-tag being floated around is €70 million for the 22-year old Senegalese international defender, again according to Il Messaggero via Sky Sports.
The defender’s eye for goal will certainly get Blues fans excited if indeed is he one of the first arrivals this summer, having scored five Serie A goals, and most notably the match-winning goal at Juventus towards the end of the season which took the title-race right down to the final weeks.
The concerns surrounding the potential transfer will surely be the fact the club only have Europa League football next season, as well the serial winner appointment of Carlo Ancelotti – the wily Italian will be desperate to retain the best players at his disposal in Naples.
If Napoli are actually willing to sell Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, even if Maurizio Sarri is appointed manager at Chelsea, Blues fans should probably expect interest for the defender from elsewhere, with talkSPORT stating that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the Senegalese international.
