The big news ahead of kick-off at Sunday lunchtime will be whether Eden Hazard is fit enough to be included in the Chelsea XI at Turf Moor. The Blues’ top goalscorer was ruled out with a back injury in the Europa League this past Thursday and, according to the Metro, missed the team’s last training session prior to traveling.
While it’s still anticipated that Eden Hazard will make it back to fitness, Pedro is waiting in-line to replace the Belgian should injury keep him out of CFCnet’s predicted Chelsea line up. However, after an impressive hat-trick against BATE, Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be the man to replace Hazard in a reshuffled XI.
The defence is set to be entirely changed from the Europa League victory, with Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz and Alonso all expected to return. Gary Cahill and Davide Zappacosta are expected to be included on the substitutes bench.
Alvaro Morata is being tipped to start vs Burnley, but having failed to score in his last two outings, it could be that Maurizio Sarri once again rotates the Spaniard with Olivier Giroud.
Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante are also expected to come back in midfield, with the manager once again keeping a settled line up in the Premier League – which has so far seen the Blues go unbeaten in their first nine games.
Predicted Chelsea Line Up vs Burnley
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga
Defence: Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso
Midfield: Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante
Attack: Willian, Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata
