After last week’s comfortable 3-0 victory over Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have to finish the job and not let complacency set-in for the 2nd leg in the Ukraine.
Maurizio Sarri remained cautious ahead of the Europa League 2nd leg, stating the need for the Blues to approach the game from the off on the front foot;
“We need application, otherwise if you concede a goal, you can be mentally in trouble. We need to go there with a high level of attention.”
Last week’s goal scorers are expected to play their part again on Thursday for the early kick-off of 5:55pm (UK) – however it’s unsure whether or not Sarri will opt to play Pedro and Willian from the whistle, Hudson-Odoi though looks a safe starter.
Defenders Zappacosta and Christensen are expected to once again be given the nod, but expect the likes of Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante to be given either places on the bench or in the stands – especially so with a crucial Premier League game on Sunday.
So who’s definitely ruled out of the Chelsea starting XI vs Dynamo Kiev? Gonzalo Higuain has not travelled to the Ukraine and will be kept back to recover after an illness earlier in the week – he should be fit for the weekend trip to Everton. Everyone else will be available to Maurizio Sarri but rotation is expected.
