The Blues return home to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to take on Marco Silva’s Everton with a top of the table spot up for grabs – at least even just for a few hours.
Chelsea know they will be up against an opposition on the rise with the Toffees having won four out of their last five, but the home fans will be confident seeing as Maurizio Sarri has so masterminded a seventeen game unbeaten streak in all competitions.
More good news for Sarri is that he appears to have no injury concerns, with Ethan Ampadu, Eden Hazard, and Olivier Giroud all fit – the latter two both getting game-time against BATE in the Europa League this past Thursday.
The predicted Chelsea line up vs Everton is expected to see a familiar XI again on Sunday with the fully-rested defence including David Luiz and Marcos Alonso reinstated.
Alvaro Morata is set to be named in the Chelsea starting XI after a midweek rest, and the Spaniard will be backed to add to his three goals in his past two Premier League matches.
An interesting sub-plot to the clash against the Toffees is this will be the first time that Ross Barkley could possibly come up against Everton since departing Goodison Park. However, despite CFCnet naming him in the XI, it could be that Sarri opts for Kovacic instead to take the heat off what is expected to be a hostile reception from the away support.
Predicted Chelsea Line Up vs Everton
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga
Defence: Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso
Midfield: Jorginho, Ross Barkley, N’Golo Kante
Attack: Willian, Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata
