French news source L’Equipe (in French) via the Metro are suggesting that Paris St-Germain are to offer their French international midfielder Adrien Rabiot in a swap deal for Chelsea’s N’golo Kante.

PSG are aware however that getting such a deal over the line won’t be straightforward, with Chelsea valuing N’Golo Kante at around €100 million and Rabiot at around €50 million. It’s also worth noting that 23-year old Adrien Rabiot only has one year left on his current deal in Paris – so the Blues will feel they hold all the leverage and value in such a potential transfer.

The Metro do suggest though that Chelsea are huge admirers of Rabiot and have watched his progression for a number of years and would all but certainly want to bring him to Stamford Bridge should the opportunity arise – but a swap deal for Kante looks the unlikely avenue to get it done.

Already at 23, Rabiot has won the French Ligue 1 championship four times, four French League Cups and three French Cups. In 220 total club career appearances, Rabiot from midfielder has scored 23 goals and assisted 18 further goals for his teammates.

N’Golo Kante on the other hand still has three years left on his current Blues deal and has been a stalwart in the midfield in the two seasons since joining from the then Premier League champions Leicester City. PSG according to L’Equipe have Kante as their top summer target, and with France very much in the mix at the World Cup, any updates regarding his availability, or whether PSG make any move will have to wait until around mid-July.

There are rumours that both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are targets for Real Madrid this summer, so if either does leave no doubt PSG will have plenty of financial clout to play with and possibly bid for Kante before the transfer window closes.
