Chelsea are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Juventus full-back, Alex Sandro but the Italian side want a staggering place for the Brazilian (via The Sun).

It’s clear that this Chelsea squad is in need of some serious reinforcement in a number of different areas.

There is a lack of depth up front, in midfield and in the full-back positions as has been highlighted in recent weeks.

One player regularly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is the Juventus full-back, Alex Sandro.

The Brazilian was rumoured to be of interest to the Blues in the summer but no deal could be reached. Now, reports suggest that Chelsea are in pole position to sign the 26-year-old in January.

The defender has a strained relationship with his club right now which is perhaps why these rumours have come about.

Alex Sandro would be an excellent signing for Chelsea but the major stumbling block behind this deal is the reported £80 million transfer fee. It’s an astronomical amount of money for a full-back, especially considering the other weaknesses in the Blues’ squad.
