A medical is reportedly booked in for Thursday at Chelsea, with the club set to put the finishing touches on a deal to confirm the signing of defender Thiago Silva.
The PSG man has seemingly decided to end his time in the French capital for a new challenge in west London, in what looks an astute bit of business by the Blues.
Silva, now 35, put in a string of impressive performances in the recent Champions League run to the final, and will undoubtedly offer bags of experience to Frank Lampard, who struggled to put together a settled defence last season.
A last ditch contract offer was reportedly offered to Thiago Silva by PSG, according to Sky Sports Transfer Centre, but that doesn’t appear to have materialised into anything and a deal between Chelsea and the Brazilian is to accumulate on Thursday with a medical.
Thiago Silva has won seven Ligue 1 titles with PSG and one Serie A title with AC Milan, representing Brazil 89 times.
