There doesn’t appear to be one day where Eden Hazard isn’t mentioned in the rumour mills as being on his way to Real Madrid in the summer, but if that is so, then questions will be asked as to who replaces him in the Blues squad.

Step forward Roma’s exciting 21-year old attacking winger Cengiz Under, the Turkish international has over 30 goals in his career to-date with six this season for the Italians, as well as nine assists.

Italian news source Calciomercato and Caughtoffside carry the transfer report today and state that Cengiz Under is seen as one of the possible solutions to plug the gap Eden Hazard would leave, and that an ‘enquiry’ has been made from the Blues to Roma.

Cengiz Under has emerged as one of the top youngsters in Europe and his form with Roma since signing in 2017 has caught the eye, with 14 goals in-total for the club. On top of that he has 17 senior caps for Turkey and four international goals.

Christian Pulisic’s arrival in the summer will give Chelsea something different from the wide-attacking areas, and if Cengiz Under were to sign that could also raise questions over the futures of Willian, Pedro and even Callum Hudson-Odoi who continues to see game time restricted.

Things could change in a matter of weeks though, if Maurizio Sarri gets pushed out from his role as manager and the right replacement is found – Eden Hazard could yet remain and a player like Hudson-Odoi could be thrust straight into the starting XI – eliminating the need to do big transfer business in the summer. It’s very much a watch this space sort of time at Stamford Bridge.
